About alaskametro<3 skins

GENERAL OVERVIEW

The alaskametro<3 skin system (previously called “SYNERGY by OPIUM” during beta testing) utilizes the new layer feature in Second Life versions 2.0 and above for maximum flexibility.

Begin by choosing a base skin tone from the selection of semi-tintable, seamless skins. From there, up to 4 hair colours are available, with 3 eyebrow options each. A skin pack includes 1 eyebrow option, in 1 hair colour, in 1 base tone, but contains 4 variations: regular, freckled, Brazilian waxed, and freckled with Brazilian waxed.

Makeup packs are available to enhance your alaskametro<3 skin, and are modifiable to allow you to add your own tattoos, nail polish, body glitter, etc. Makeup packs use the SL 2.0 “Tattoos” layer and will NOT work in older Second Life software.

Collecting makeup and making your skin your own is now easy and affordable!

BASE SKIN TONES

Base skin tones are currently available in 4 semi-tintable shades:
ROSE: warm, beige pinkish-toned light skin
BRONZE: warm, tanned/bronzed medium light skin
SPICE: very warm tanned medium skin
EBONY: cool-toned, very dark/African skin

Each skin tone is modifiable by up to 7% using the My Appearance sliders.

Up to 4 hair colours are available for each skin base tone: blonde, red, brunette, and raven.

3 eyebrow options are currently available:
01: smooth, combed brow arch
02: elegant, natural brow arch
03: sparsely-plucked brow arch

A skin pack, sold at L$900, includes 1 skin base tone with 1 eyebrow option in 1 hair colour, but includes 4 skin files:
REGULAR: self-explanatory, has groomed bikini line
WAXED: full Brazilian-style bikini wax
FRECKLES: a light scattering of freckles, groomed bikini line
FRECKLES, WAXED: a light scattering of freckles, full Brazilian-style bikini wax

ALWAYS TRY ON DEMOS BEFORE PURCHASING ANY SKIN FROM ANY CREATOR – SKIN PURCHASES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE/NON-RETURNABLE. THIS IS STANDARD IN SECOND LIFE.

MAKEUP PACKS

The new “Tattoos” layer in Second Life 2.0 is what makes this layered makeup system possible. Forget spending thousands of L$ on a handful of makeup options. Once you’ve made your original investment in the base skin by alaskametro<3, you can purchase oodles of fashion makeup looks at affordable prices. If you’re experienced in graphics software, you can even try making your own.

Makeup layers come in 4-packs at L$150 each. A look has a dark version (for tones SPICE, EBONY) and light version (for tones ROSE, BRONZE.) Each makeup layer is copy/modifiable, and has empty upper and lower body slots. This means you can copy your makeup and add in textures for nail polish, tattoos, body glitter… whatever you want.

Nail polish is available on both gloves/socks layers and as textures. This will allow you to drop the texture into the upper or lower body slot in your favourite makeup. This system frees your socks and gloves for what they’re intended for… socks and gloves!

MAKEUP LAYERS WILL ONLY WORK FOR USERS OF SECOND LIFE 2.0 AND ABOVE. THEY ARE DESIGNED FOR ALASKAMETRO<3 BASE SKINS AND RESULTS WITH OTHER SKIN CREATORS WILL VARY. MAKEUP PURCHASES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE/NON-RETURNABLE

DEMOS

For ANY skin in Second Life, you should always try on a demo before purchasing! Demo skins for alaskametro<3 base tones have a tribal DEMO lower back tattoo, and are a random mix to demonstrate the hair colour, eyebrow options, and freckles available. They do not represent the full range of options available in the store.

Look for a free featured makeup in the store to test the layering capabilities of the skin system… there will always be a free makeup available!
