Frequently Asked Questions
THE BRAND
What happened to OPIUM Everyday?
OPIUM Everyday was a sub-brand of the now-defunct OPIUM Addictive Fashion. Without the umbrella brand, the name “OPIUM Everyday” didn’t make a lot of sense. It also wasn’t unique in Second Life any longer. In early 2010, I decided to rebrand with a variant on my name, and thus the alaskametro<3 brand was born.
THE STORE
Where did the store go?
On January 5, 2011, the Second Style Island sim closed. This meant the main, and only, in-world location for alaskametro<3 products closed as well.
Where can I buy alaskametro<3 products?
Currently, the only location to buy alaskametro<3 products is on the SL Marketplace.
I’m looking for something you used to sell that’s not on the Marketplace.
Please contact me directly in world, I can probably sell it to you directly out of my inventory.
Are you interested in joining my mall as a tenant?
Sorry, I find renting mall space in-world does not offer a return on the rental fees. I no longer have mall locations in-world.
Advertising/Marketing
I run a model agency in Second Life and I think you’d be interested in a fashion show.
At the moment, I’d rather organize and produce a fashion show myself when I do have a seasonal release. That being said, I’d be happy to offer sponsorship to a fashion event or show if you’d like me to supply clothing items and/or skins to models.
Are you looking for models?
Sorry, at the moment I have all the models I need.
I have a Second Life fashion-related blog or magazine. Are you interested in advertising?
Please drop me a notecard with your rates… if I’m interested and have the budget to advertise, I’ll let you know.
I have a fashion blog. What is your review copy policy?
Please send me a notecard with your blog’s URL and a wishlist of items and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. If you send me a wishlist, I’ll try to accommodate you.
General Product Questions
Do you do custom work?
Sorry, but I can’t guarantee I can complete custom work in a timely manner, and I find it interferes with other creative projects.
I like this item, but wish it came in another colour.
I don’t do custom recolours, but I welcome feedback and suggestions and will try to keep it in mind when I develop new products or rework old ones.
What are your products’ permissions?
Second Life’s permissions system is inflexible and needs an overhaul. In the meantime, I’ve set all products to copy/modify/NO TRANSFER.
How can I give your product as a gift?
You can gift products using the SL Marketplace – it’s an option when you check out.
What is your refund/return policy?
Because items are NO TRANSFER, I cannot offer returns, exchanges, or refunds. Sorry.
I purchased an item and never received it.
Please contact me asap and I’ll deliver it to you in-world. If you contact me after 30 days have gone by, I cannot verify the purchase and therefore can’t help you.
I tried an item on but it’s solid white/solid black.
This is a glitch that happens sometimes, especially with skins. Clear your cache (Preferences > Setup, Reset button), relog, and try rebaking (Control + Alt + R or Command + Option + R).
I hate Second Life Viewer 2.0. Can I still use your skins?
The base skintones will still work with older clients – they are just normal skins. However, they are makeupless. To use the makeup layers you have to be on SL 2.0 or Emerald’s Beta client. In the meantime, consider voting on the Second Life jira on SL 2.0′s viewer issues.
Do your makeup layers work with other skins besides the alaskametro<3 ones?
I have heard mixed reports on this. Every skin is different and while the lipstick may look fine, the eyeshadow may look odd, and vice versa. Try the current free makeup (I always have at least one available in-store) with other skins to see before you purchase.
