New tattoo layer eyeshadow: Creme Duo (6 colours total)

I love being able to layer tattoos and combine looks with makeup in Second Life. I’ve been expanding the existing beauty by alaskametro<3 makeup line, and I’ve just released new eyeshadows on tattoo layer! Creme Duo Eyeshadow is a creamy, slightly shimmery eyeshadow in two tones with a winged shape. Available in 6 colour combinations (one free as a tester), or buy all 6 and save L$.

Preview: Fall 2010 makeup looks

I’ve been hard at work preparing to release the Fall 2010 alaskametro<3 makeup series. There’ll be 8 looks total, lots of new nail polish, and a couple new false eyelashes. I’m liking it so much, I can’t resist giving you a preview…

Metallics are in this season… shimmering eyelids in bronze, gold and silver paired with a creme nude lipstick were on the runways for Fall 2010. Here I’ve interpreted the look with gold shimmer. Also shown: “Vida” prim lashes – clumps of single false eyelashes for a spiky dramatic look.

Red eyeshadow… so striking, and not a look many of us can pull off in First Life. But this is Second Life where we can do what we want. :) Charcoal grey lids with red shimmer undereye shadow and a nude lip to give the eyes maximum impact.

Red lips are a fall makeup staple… this season, they’re treated simply with little to no other makeup on the face. Also shown: “Here Kitty” prim lashes – extra false lashes at the outer eye corner create a dramatic “cat’s eye” look.

One of the most surprising trends this season? Natural makeup – a clean, fresh face. This Second Life version uses pale beige and brown eyeshadow and pale pink blush for contouring, but the final look appears to not have any makeup on at all.

As always, makeup is meant to be fun. Fall 2010′s trends tend toward bold colour and dramatic eyes, so embrace the looks and have fun with it. :)

I’ve been desperately needing to update my boxes at The Free Dove for a while now: not only are they full of landmarks to no-longer-existing stores, the items in them are from several years ago and don’t reflect the quality of the alaskametro<3 brand!

In place of the old SKIN 2.0 box, I’ve placed a wonderful Avatar Starter Kit from beauty by alaskametro<3. This Kit contains the basic foundations to an attractive avatar:

  • Beautiful, handdrawn sample alaskametro<3 skin in Bronze semi-tintable tone with brown eyebrows*
  • Realistic pale green eyes
  • A realistically-proportioned shape with copy/modify perms, specially made to look great with the skin
  • Prim eyelashes fitted to the shape
  • One makeup layer (requires SL 2.0+) in an exclusive, wearable everyday look
  • French manicured red fingernails (layers for SL 2.0+ as well as gloves)
  • Red toenail polish (layers for SL 2.0+ as well as socks)
  • Lashless alpha layer (requires SL 2.0+)

*The base skintone has a small, winged heart tattoo on the lower back. I wondered how to show it was a sample without being crude enough to put in a demo skin for new players; the tattoo is (I think) attractive enough to make the heart logo work without ruining the skin. Naturally, skins purchased at the store don’t have a lower back tattoo.
